Tornado
As you may have heard by now, a tornado hit our church on Friday night, April 22nd, 2011. The wind and rain did extensive damage to the entire building. This emergency occurred during our showing of The Passion of the Christ and there were roughly 30 people in the sanctuary. Though the damage is extensive, we praise God that no one was hurt or killed. Recovery efforts are going on right now. We are going to have more information and updates involving the storm, the damage, the cleanup efforts and the recovery. Though it may be difficult to see how right now, God will use this tragedy for his good. We know that though the church building may fall down, the PEOPLE are what make up the church. Mr. Stacy Garner is preaching a year-long sermon series entitled I Want to Know Christ: A Growth Plan for 2011. The series follows along with a shared Bible reading plan that is available in our welcome center. Each week's sermon centers on a chapter from the Bible that we read that week. But if you've fallen behind or haven't started yet, don't worry! No preparation is necessary and you can pick up in the middle.
